The reintroduction of Business Photos
There is a new feature quietly launched by Google My Business Team and its one that Trusted Photographers have been hoping would arrive. Business owners are now encouraged to add photos to their Google My Business listing and can now categorise them to reflect more accurately what you do.
So how does it work?
The first thing to do is log into your Google My Business Dashboard and click on Manage Photos.
Its the button that I have highlighted in red and is in the header of the Dashboard.
Now this is where the fun starts. A new screen opens up which is entitled Business Photos.
Now you can see that you add photos to a range of categories including interior and exterior views of your business, team photos, photos at work-meaning of the services you offer and now identity photos.
identity photos are profile. logo and cover photos.
And for the first time you can tell Google which photo you would prefer to be shown across Google platforms.
Google is clear that it really values great quality photos of your business and that they give visitors confidence in your business services if they can see more of what you do. Adding photos to categories has to be on of the easiest things you can do to market your business. You can even use the Google My Business Dashboard mobile app to add and categorise your images.
Google also tries to help out with some suggestions of how many photos in each category you might want to add.
This is a major upgrade to business listings for Google and it will be interesting to see how this develops going forward. get started now as its in the UK as well as the States, which makes a change.
